After almost three decades of fighting, Sri Lanka is launching a $20 million advertising campaign to boost tourism to the tropical island.
Sri Lanka, with its picturesque hill-top tea plantations and a 2,500 kilometer coastline dotted with white sandy beaches, has great potential as a top tourist destination. Now, only time will tell, if the country can successfully turn the media’s attention away from the 300,000 people displaced by war, towards the island nation’s attractions, which will hopefullyserve as a positive step towards rebuilding the war-ridden nation.
