Can the Dead Fly?

A peculiar incident occurred on a flight from Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport heading towards Germany, when one of its passengers was discovered by airport employees to be dead. The bizarre incident, involving 91-year-old Mr Willi Jarant, sparked accusations that his wife and stepdaughter, who were accompanying him on the flight were trying to smuggle his body back to Germany.
Formal repatriation of a body is a somewhat more tedious and expensive process, and the widow, Gitta Jarant and her daughter, Anke Anusic, have since been arrested “on suspicion of failing to give notification of death”. They have denied the charges.
