Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world. It is approximately 122km long and its widest point is 22km. There are almost no paved roads on the island, and vehicle access is limited to 4WD vehicles.

This is the only place in the world where you will be able to find rainforests growing on sand dunes at elevations of over 200 metres. Despite its popularity among travellers, much of the island’s natural beauty has been preserved. Its unique landscape is made up of miles of uninterrupted white beaches, coloured cliffs, over a hundred freshwater lakes, as well as ancient rainforests.

Activities that you can do on the island include exploring the island by 4WD, walking trails, fishing and swimming at the numerous lakes, which range from tea-coloured to clear-blue.
