Luxury Burgers – now doesn’t that sound like an unlikely marriage of words? Most Singaporeans though are already familiar with the concept, ever since the now defunct Uberburger in Millenia Walk, introduced its $101 Wagyu Burger back in 2006.

A recent article by Forbes Traveler went in search of luxury burgers found all over the world. From top notch restaurants in New York, to the Four Seasons in Jakarta, to the Hong Kong Steak House, all featured burgers with equally impressive fixings. Ingredients ranged from foie gras, to truffles, to gruyere cheese and of course Kobe and Wagyu beef. Prices ranged from US$21 all the way up to US$141.

But honours for most expensive burger do not belong to any of them. In Mallie’s Sports Bar in Detroit, their 50 pound Absolutely Ridiculous Burger sells for US$499. And at Le Burger Brasserie, inside the Paris Las Vegas casino, a Kobe beef and Maine lobster burger goes for US$777, accompanied by Dom Perignon, no less.
